Valentines day paper heart tutorial
I love it when I can craft without much hassle and that is one reason I made loads of these paper hearts in one single go! I’m sure you would love this paper hearts tutorial too 🙂 I chose a white-red polka dots pattern paper for my paper hearts which I couldn’t anyways use anywhere else!
Cut out your paper into strips of about 1/2 inch width each. The length of each strip here is 6 inches.
The ones I made have two concentric hearts per paper heart and if you are going with two hearts, fold and staple two strips together. If you want the patterns to show outside like mine, fold the pattern inwards and staple them about 1/2 inch away from the folded edge.
Take a bone folder or pen or anything and pull the paper by holing it between the bone folder and your thumb. Make sure you have your bone folder on the plain side and thumb on pattern side of the stapled strip. This way your strip gets a curve and will not have sharp folds while making hearts.
Take the inner set of paper strip and staple them together to make a small heart. I would suggest a smaller heart this time so that the extra length you get after stapling is a support for the heart from other set of strip.
Take the outer set of paper and again staple them together to make a bigger heart . If your inner heart was already big, you will not have sufficient gaps between both hearts and they will not stand out. You could just simply hold and see how much length approx to be stapled for both hearts before stapling and then decide.
Thats it! you can pass a string through the centre of the heart and tie it up so that you could maybe hang them up someplace pretty.
I made a wall hanging out of these paper hearts but that is for an entirely different post 🙂 Stay tuned 😀 Hope you liked this DIY valentines day last minute paper hearts tutorial !!
Happy valentines day!
