Blitsy Website review and Haul from India
Hello all!
Buying craft supplies when you are on budget is the most difficult thing to do for me! I always look out for sales or deals on online craft supplies shops in India (HERE) or on facebook craft supply shops. I had subscribed to Blitsy – an International craft supply shop long time back but nothing on it was affordable in terms of Indian rupees espicially with all the extra shipping charges hell no!!! It was during the black friday sales that they had such tempting offers so i knew i had to try them. And now that im extrememly pleased with the purchase and their customer care service, I thought why not do a post on Blitsy Website review and Haul from India 🙂

Why I shopped from Blitsy website?
From all the craft tutorials that I have posted so far, you might know very well that Im not a Scrapbooking/Card-making person at all! Wait – until Vithya from Craftvithme sent me 2 stamps and I was left clueless as to what to do with them! I researched about stamping and came to understand that i need cardstocks, inkpads and acrylic blocks apart from the stamps. I had seen a lot of cards made by fellow crafters with distressing techniques so i decided to give Tim holtz distress inkpads a try. I found this very useful post by Rajni Chawla on her blog (HERE) on selection & storage of Distress Ink pads and shortlisted my colours based on her recommendations.
First i searched indian craft supply shops for the inkpads but none of them had at least 50% of my requirement in stock 🙁 Thats when I found Blitsy black friday sale on Distress Inkpads trending on my facebook and i decided to check them out. Blitsy website had 13 of the 19 colors i had selected plus all of them were on 3.50$flat and also, when i calculated the total cost including shipping, the price was reasonable enough. Many Indian craft supply shops sell Ranger inkpads at Rs.280-325 per pieces ( varieas based on shades) whereas, my haul amount = 62$ = Rs.3921 (13 pieces) = Rs.301 per piece – which left me thinking why not try Blitsy website this time.
Blitsy website shopping experience :
Blitsy is a well crafted wonderful website. Even though i had made up my mind that I was not going to buy anything other than the inkpads, i couldnt resist checking all offers for hours and hours together! The website layout is so good that i had opened tabs over tabs in my explorer to see everything ! Here are some screenshots of the website:
Here is my order details :
Biltsy ships internationally as well which is a great advantage when it comes to laying hands on variety craft supplies. The international shipping rates as mentioned by Blitsy in their website is as below:
Blitsy haul arrival :
I had made the order for 13 numbers Tim holtz Ranger Ink pads from Blitsy website on 1.12.14 and i received an order confirmation email to my registered email address almost immediately. But unfortunately it took 15 days for them ship them out mostly due to black-friday sales i guess ( But they have mentioned possible delays in international shipping on their websites so i dint mind waiting!). On 22.12.14 i sent out an email to them regarding status of my package since i couldn’t track the location on the UPS website and they very next day i get this very friendly mail from their customer support team informing me that location tracking might not be possible as they hand over the parcel to Indian post once it reaches India.
Anyhow I was busy with Christmas and holidays and going home n all n i had nearly forgotten about this parcel when right after my vacation i get these delivered at home Yippeeeee!!!
Overall, my shopping experience with Blitsy was very good and I shall definitely buy more stuffs during sales 🙂
Do let me know your experiences with online craft supply shopping and also if you know about any other online craft supplies shops in India and abroad apart from the ones listed here. (HERE)
OMG thanks so much for posting this. Blitsy this website is incredible!
Yes i know the website has loads of deals ALWAYS! I was reluctant at first cz of the high international shipping charges but when i analysed the total cost while purchasing my distress inkpads, i realized they are actually at par with expenses on a local purchase. But the variety there- i keep checking out all offers even while not planning to buy just cz they look so aaaawwww 🙂
Thank you for posting this.I am planning to shop at Blitsy, just wanted to know whether any custom taxes were charged or not?
Hi Priyanka! The price that you pay to Blitsy is exclusive of customs duty. But most of the times smaller packages do not attract customs duty like the time that I purchased, it reached me in less than a month and I had to pay no additional charges. But sometimes there could be a chance that they hold the package for payment of customs duty. Its mere luck 🙁
Thank you, Angela. I am also planning for a purchase of small package. Hope I ‘ll be exempted from taxes :/
It will most probably be exempted. Do not worry 🙂
