Been a little on the lazier side this new year when it comes to crafting and blogging. More so because its financial year end we are having quite a lot of work at office! But I did make an awesome lampshade with foam board and the tutorial is on Itsybitsy blog. For today I made these little yarn wrapped hearts and my little grace helped me paint them and wrap the yarn around them. Such a fun activity it was 🙂
Materials require to make yarn wrapped hearts :
- Yarn in different shades
- Piece of carton/corrugated board
- White paint
- Colored paper ( same shade as yarn)
- Glue, scissors, pen pencil etc
How to make Yarn Wrapped Hearts
Start with making a small outline of heart ( in required size) on a piece of paper. To make it symmetric, fold the paper and draw just half of the heart and cut them out.
Use these as template to mark out hearts on your carton box/corrugated sheet/cardboard – anything a little hard and thick.
Cut out these hearts and you are ready to wrap yarn around them. I made two types of these hearts, one with white background and one with a background shade that matched the yard color and I liked the latter better.
I started wrapping yarn in a specific order starting from one side and covering as much space as possible an then shifting to the other part of the heart. I did go over the same space again and again to have uniform coverage. Its really upto you how much yarn to use over a single heart.
As I told you , I made two types and I liked the red one better than the pink more so because it fakes a good coverage. Either ways, I loved how simple they were and you can hang them around or string them into a garland
Hope you liked these little hearts 🙂 More DIYs will coming your way but make sure you have subscribed so you get them right in your email.
