Friendship Card with tagline : “Thinking of you”
A friendship card with the tag ” thinking of you” will definitely surprise your friend! Do read on for full tutorials on how to make this card!
I hadn’t touched my cardmaking supplies since Christmas and I just felt like I needed a break and craft for a change! I made this “Thinking of you” Friendship card for a friend of mine ( which btw I just posted yesterday!) with hydrangea stamps from the Penny black Flower Festival stamp-set.
Materials used to make “Thinking of you” Friendship card :
- Fabriano elle erre in viola shade
- Penny black flower festival stampset
- Wplus9 fresh cut florals stampset for sentiments
- Zing opaque white embossing powder
- Heat embossing tool
- Versamark watermark stamppad
- Acrylic blocks
- Double sided foam tape
- Camlin drawing inks
Step by step method followed to make “Thinking of you” friendship card
Most of my cards are of the size 5-7/8 x 4-1/8 because the cardstocks I buy are A4 in size so I generally cut them into half. You need to have a score and trim board to get the measurements correct and straight. For beginners, you can always use a scale and scissors which is how I used to do in the beginning! For this card I used two sets of cardstocks – purple shaded one for the base and white shade for the painting. I generally use Brustro Watercolour Papers
for painting but since I did not have them, I used Brustro Sketching & Drawing Papers as an alternative.
I stamped the hydrangea flower stamps from Penny black flower festival set with versamark watermark inks on the brustro white cardstock. Spilt some white opaque embossing powder from Zing and heat set them with rangers heating tool. The stamping was random I mean I could fit in only 3 of them in the specific size so randomly stamped them.
I used the purple shade from Camlin drawing ink to color the hydrangeas. I first colored all uniformly in lighter diluted shade and selectively colored few of them again with a little concentrated color to give a variance of shade. The leaves were also colored with green shade from the same set. The camlin drawing ink set of 12 shades comes in bottles and the ink is like transparent fountain pen inks unlike poster shades . I love the fact that they don’t leave any powdery deposits and they are retailed at just Rs.440!
I spread some plain water around the flowers in the background and then applied lightest diluted blue shade on the wet area. The flowers looked awkward with white background so this little touch of blue was a nice addition. I stamped a few dragonflies from the same stamp-set with black versafine ink to fill in the gaps. The sentiment is from Wplus9 fresh-cut florals and I love the script.
This finalised layer was placed onto the purple fabriano cardstock with double sided foam tape. I loved the purple – purple combination 😀 I had been having the Flower festival stamps since God knows when but this is the first time I am using them! Im such a hoarder!
Hope you liked this friendship card as much as my friend who hopefully does like it 🙂 Do you guys send cards to your friends? I just started making and sending them once in awhile even if there is not special occassion. Just to let them know that I do remember all the good old times 🙁 🙁 🙁

Thankyou so much seema 🙂 Hope you liked the card 🙂
I absolutely love these! I’m a big fan of sending just random cards for nothing. It’s nice to let people that you love them and are thinking of them.
I agree 🙂 In this age of technology and everything online, I think a handmade card with handwritten words just makes us feel so special and loved 🙂
