DIY Pom Pom Christmas Bauble
The first set of ornaments to go up on your trees are the statement pieces and what better than a huge DIY pom pom Christmas bauble for it? Highly recommended quick & easy DIY for the holiday season 🙂
I haven’t been this casual about blogging ever since I started off. Somehow I am so so lethargic I don’t know why, this doesn’t even interest me that much because there is hardly any real interaction on the blog 🙁 Nevertheless, I hope situations will change once I change (:P) so I am going to be the torchbearer of change here and start off with the holiday crafting 🙂
Last year while putting up the tree I realised we needed a few more of really huge statement baubles that will go up first on the tree. And the smaller ones will fill up the balance areas uniformly. Last year so we kind of made some DIY baubles with clear baubles by filling them with flowers and sequins etc. Do check them out here.
My initial ideas was to make these with balls from ball pit but then I would’ve had to purchase them so I used the thermocol balls that I already had with me.
Materials required for making DIY Pom Pom Christmas Baubles

How to make DIY Pom Pom Christmas Baubles
As I said you can get literally any ball that you have with you. After I made these DIY Pom Pom Christmas Bauble, I realised I had a lot of these GEMS chocolate balls that I could’ve reused. So take your time and figure out what you have at home that can be reurposed instead of getting whole set of new supplies 🙂
The idea is simple which is, that you have to use your hot glue to stick all the pompoms together side by side, to cover the entire surface of the ball. And then neatly give a finishing touch with a pretty bow.
Well its that easy yes. I made two variants of these here as you can see. One is this pretty colorful synthetic pom poms but the colors are more or less on the pastel side.
The second one is a bit more brighter shaded ones but in a single shade and to break the color monotony, they are laid with beads and trinkets.
If you are using thermocol ball or thinner plastic balls, make sure to reduce the heat setting on the hot glue gun or use it 5-10 secs after switching it off so that the glue doesn’t burn a hole into the ball.
Supplies sources :
- Pom Pom : Pastel colorful pompom was from amazon ( asian hobby crafts), cotton pompom (red & blue) was from embroiderymaterials.com,
- Ribbons : Red velvet and glitter gold ribbons both are from premier ribbons. Meraki cards also stock similarly pretty christmas themed ribbons.
- Hot glue gun : Stanley hot glue gun from amazon ( 4 years old)
- Thermocol balls : from Itsybitsy.
