Confetti Hearts Card Tutorial
Confetti Hearts Card Tutorial :
Those who are regulars at my blog would know that I’m totally not into Scrap-booking or related paper-crafts. I knew that some or the other time I would have to take that one big step and try them for the sake of having variety crafts on my blog. Well so being a novice to this field I felt like I was pushing myself to drown myself into an ocean full of whales, sharks, stamps, inkpads, embossing and what not! I was scared till now of what to buy, where to start, how to do because there seem to be too much of a syllabus to master! So I had a little email chat with Priya Sivaraj from TheCraftShop.in who was very kind enough to answer all my beginners stupid doubts and of course I bought my first cardmaking supplies from her 🙂 Next bunch of thanks and hugs goes to Dr.Sonia SV from CardsandSchoolprojects for her very valuable post on beginners stamping tips&techniques (HERE) from where I felt like yes that looks easy enough 🙂
Enough of background stories and straight to my Confetti Hearts Card 🙂
Materials Required to make Confetti Hearts Card :
- Faber castell Watercolor Pencil
- Heidi Swapp Stamp set : love sentiments
- Inkadinkado stamp set : Heart sets
- Craft zigZag scissors : Faber castell
- White Cardstock
- Glue
- Bakers twine
- Washi tape
- Memento’s black Inkpad
Step by Step Procedure to make Confetti Hearts Card :
I have used a 4″x6″ cardstock ( landscape and portrait each) for these cards. You can get these my cutting out your A4 cardstock into 1/2 the size and since Im yet to recieve my Fiskars Trim and Scoreboard, I had to do a messy cut with my scissors!
So for preparation, I stamped out little hearts from this Inkadinkado stampset with memento’s inkpad and colored them with shades of pink, orange and reds from faber castell watercolor pencils. I gave an even color distribution by coloring over them with wet paintbrush and then cut them out one by one.
For the card base, I made a contrast border by sticking washi tape all through the edges and also made a smaller size layer by cutting another cardstock with help of zigzag scissors from faber castell. I tied up the bakers twine across the cut out zigzag layer and made a kutti bow in the front ( I forgot to do that for second card 😛 )
After securing the layer over the base card, I pasted the confetti hearts in random order and stamped out “Love you” sentiment from Heidi swapp stamp set. ( I have only black inkpad for now else I would actually have preferred a coloured ink for the sentiment :()
I made two of these – one in landscape layout with black polka dot washi tape and the other in portrait with multicolor triangle patterned washi tape. Which one did you like the most? I like the polka dots ones although I wish I had remembered to add the twine part for this one as well 🙁
