I made these quirky real fun card for my girl friends using art impressions laughing stamp set.I am sharing tutorial with full supplies list here.
Few weeks back I had shared a set of friends card using our own Indian make mudra stamps and I hope you all like them. This one is another set of friends card using art impressions laughing set and I was a little apprehensive about the card but it turned out to be kind of okay. For the first time I have used pattern paper and I used just a little because there were lot of empty space on the card.
Materials used in making these friends card with art impressions laughing stamp :
- Art impressions laughing set
- Hampton arts LOLFriends-Girlfriends-Sisters-Humour sentiments
- Distress inks/Zig brush pens/any colors : for coloring
- Archival black ink for sentiments + outlines
- Fabriano elle erre cardstock in colors aragosta and piscello
- Doily in white shade (small size)
- Brustro watercolor papers
- Glue & scissors
How I made these friends card with art impressions laughing stamp sets
So I started off with stamping the images of the laughing ladies using archival black ink on brustro watercolor paper.
I colored them using zig cleans, distress inks and also camlin drawing inks ( I was running out of bright shades so used combinations 😛 You can use whichever types of color you have at your disposal).
Once the coloring was done. I had cut each image by leaving a very small gap of about 1-2mm beyond the image outline.
Next was preparing the card. Most of my cards are simple floral ones and I like keeping things simple. I thought of keeping these ladies on a colored card stock along with sentiments but then they looked like they were randomly dropped from sky! The card needed something extra something filling that blank space. I had been hoarding some pretty pattern papers since long but hardly used! I chose this really colorful polka dots sheet and cut them into strips of about little less than 1/2 the card stock width. I had some doilies that I had picked up from Itsy Bitsy when it was on sale last summer ( yeah last summer and never used!)Before finalizing, I tried to change layouts and find which one fitted the best and I settled upon having it like this. The top right corner space was just enough to hold the sentiments.
Using glue I pasted all the elements as planned.I went one step ahead and punched out some colored confetti with paper punch and stuck them around the sentiments – just to add some extra details. The sentiments are from Hampton arts and they are really hilarious 🙂 Loving the final outcome 🙂
Few of my friends on facebook who are into crafting said they liked this card. I love the ladies and the sentiments were a perfect match too. Let me know if you own art impressions laughing stamp or any other of their fun stamps 😉
A little peak of my living room in this picture 😀 I’m on a decluttering spree so I’m refraining from doing any home decor posts for now 😛
Few more cards pending in my stash – one with wplus9 watercolor anemones and one with peekaboo’s floral stamps. Will take piccies and upload sooner 🙂
