I absolutely loved making card with these Indian make floral stamps from peekaboo designs. Hop on to know about these stamps & also some watercoloring tips
I have been doing only cards lately because I made a lotttt for my friends and I am yet to post them ( unfortunately late!). I promise there is only one more cards post ( apart from this one) and then I will move on to some posts on my daughters nursery and more. Todays card is using yet another Indian make stamps – peekaboo designs. If you remember, my previous post was also using another Indian make stamps from Mudra. Just love how affordable cardmaking has become this year, all thanks to new ventures by our crafting ladies 🙂 As always, I tried to play safe by making some simple cards with floral patterns but this time, I put in a lot of efforts in watercoloring phew!
I made these quirky real fun card for my girl friends using art impressions laughing stamp set.I am sharing tutorial with full supplies list here.
Few weeks back I had shared a set of friends card using our own Indian make mudra stamps and I hope you all like them. This one is another set of friends card using art impressions laughing set and I was a little apprehensive about the card but it turned out to be kind of okay. For the first time I have used pattern paper and I used just a little because there were lot of empty space on the card.
I started cardmaking with expensive stamps and now seeing indian make mudra stamps bringing out beautiful designs, how could I not make these cards with them.
Its always nice to send cards to your friends and surprise them right? Doesnt sending something handmade make them feel even more special instead of texting them happy friendship day? I listed out my firends and decided to send them handmade cards this year so I am on a marathon cardmaking spree! Here is a simple set of cards that I made using our own made in India Mudra stamps. Earlier they used to be known as Varna’s creations and recently they have rebranded as Mudra stamps. In fact last year I did make a christmas card using their stamps if you remember. If you want to buy mudra stamps, do visit mudra stamps blog for realease updates and inspirations 🙂

I hadn’t touched my cardmaking supplies since Christmas and I just felt like I needed a break and craft for a change! I made this “Thinking of you” Friendship card for a friend of mine ( which btw I just posted yesterday!) with hydrangea stamps from the Penny black Flower Festival stamp-set.
I started working on this ocean theme handmade greeting card in the beginning of the month but as you can see I got tied up with all our giveaways and other pending posts etc. Nevertheless, I managed to complete the ocean theme greeting card yesterday for Lulupu challenge for the month of June 2015- quite different from my initial design that I had in mind.
As a beginner, I refrained from experimenting with complex techniques and hence started simple and straight. Want to know how I made these little ocean theme greeting cards? Read on!
Materials required to make ocean theme greeting card :

Heidi swapp “always” stampset for hearts & sentiments
Hero arts Cleardesign: Friends
Inkadinkado hearts stampset
Cardstock – white ( Brustro)
Pleacock feather distress ink for ocean waters
Memento summersky for swirls background stamping
Rangers classic cherry for hearts
Archival jet black for sentiment
Versamark ink pad and rangers white embossing powder for embossing.
Procedure to make ocean theme greeting card :
I accept that I’m no expert to put up a tutorial but this is just sharing with you guys the method I followed to make this ocean theme greeting card so that you readers can add in suggestions 🙂
So first I cut out a card-stock into A2 size and stamped magical background with memento summer-sky dye ink.
On another card-stock, cut out same size as the no card, I applied plain water with brush all over and spread out distress ink in the shade peacock feathers in a single direction.
In the meantime while I left it to dry, I hand drew these tiny fishes with faber castell water based sketching pens and painted them with watercolors.
Hand cut these cute fishes and went ahead to draw swirly waves on my ocean with blue sketch pens.
Cut out strips of waves to superimpose on one another to get a real fake ocean effect. I paired up my fishes and decided to make one pair as lovers and another as friends 😛
Both the cards were kept simple with just a small heart stamped out of heidi swapp heart stamp in rangers classic cherry between the two fishes. I stamped “love you’ sentiment on love couple card and finished it off.
For the friends card, I actually stamped the sentiment “friends always” from Hero arts & heidi swapp but it was tilted a bit so I covered up the error by placing a heat embossed sentiment in blue card stock there. I cut it out wide enough to cover my silly stamping and decided to make it a ribbon shape – kinda looked better.
And my “l” in always didnt stamp properly 🙁
Do you want to know how I heat embossed without a heat gun? Im gonna follow this till I invest in one and you too can if you don’t own one yet. Read the experience HERE where I made a black and white card with heat embossed sentiments.
So that is the story of my ocean theme greeting card 🙂 Liked it ? have suggestions? Please do let me know because I’m really really in need of some criticism to learn better 🙂
