I told you Christmas will not fade away that soon on my blog! I made a couple of Christmas cards this year for my friends and I had shared them on my Instagram last month. I love making handmade cards for special occasions and the only thing I’m doing wrong is that I am not stocking cards of different natures so that I can send them out quickly. Well I bought a multi-stamping tool 3 months back and now I can make multiple cards like a breeze! Okay let me stop blabberring and here are my handmade Christmas cards 2016.

“Joy to the world” handmade Christmas  card :

To be honest, I got this idea after seeing Jennifer mcguire’s card  but then of course I didn’t have all the supplies like her so had to make certain changes. Instead of the bauble stamp, I punched out a 2.25″ circle from my cardstock to be filled with shaker elements.Jenifer had used distress pens to create shade of colors in the leaves and since I did not have, I just stamped them with different colors. I stamped the entire image with the lightest shade of green and then applied the ink over lesser areas and stamped over again for the depth ( thanks to stampoholic tool, the layering was perfect)

I have been having this particular floral stampset from WPlus9 for quite sometime and I haven’t made any cards yet! I decided to make some floral Christmas cards and there they are! The stampset has few layering elements so apart from the biggest flower, I stamped everything else on the base white cardstock and the biggest flower was fussy cut and added with a foam tape for added detail. The orange shade of popup flowers were really pretty so I used an orange shade cardstock as base to balance the color.

Again using the same stampset, I made another card but this time, more of a minimalist style. I centered kept the sentiment smaller and centered the images around it to form a smaller frame. The card has only one layer on which all the flowers and sentiments were stamped and as in the previous card, I fussy cut the flowers to give a small dimension.

I had tried a similar version of card last year but I have to say I can see my progress with cardmaking when I compared it with last years project. I used the much talked about beilo cardstock and I fell in love with it. The very first set of supplies I bought when I started cardmaking were distress inks which I could never work with because pf the wrong paper probably. With beilo, the ink blends like butter and no harsh lines! I first marked the area to be inked with washi tape and blended mermaid lagoon in the top half of the card. I used snowflakes stamps from mudra and heat embossed them with tinsel powder. For the white half, I stamped a complementing sentiment with versamark black ink  and added a small white organza ribbon across the border between the two colors for an added detail.
