A short story on my calligraphy journey – from where I started to where I have reached. And also a big reveal on my calligraphy milestone too 😉 Sit back and enjoy all my old calligraphy attempts like me and have a good laugh 😛
I have been getting a lot of encouragement on my calligraphy works on social media and ever since then, my blog and crafting has taken a backseat! I do not know if my blog readers are interested in calligraphy but I thought why not share a little bit about my calligraphy journey, now that I have reached a serious milestone as well ( more on that below ). So to be frank I started my calligraphy journey in 2014 end when I decided I was going to take part in lettering challenges and improve my handwriting. As with any other challenge, I went on for a week max and I gave up. I decided I wasnt good enough and that I needed to add some professional supplies! Here is a look on few of my older calligraphy attempts and seeing them, I literally burst out laughing!

So as usual I sit down late night after my daughter has slept to put up yet another tutorial post. And I was left wondering if anybody is even reading these posts. If anybody is looking out for the next tutorial or post from thecraftyangels? I have no idea who are my readers although I know there is ample number of visitors but who are you guys? Do drop in a “hi” if you are a regular here 🙂 Coming to the post, remember the DIY Monogram tutorial I did last week ? Today’s post like the last one used a burlap canvas board as a base and you can purchase them from Itsybitsy. I decided to throw away my old key holder which had worn out completely and was definitely not the first thing I wanted anyone to notice as they entered my home. So I made this really pretty entryway DIY key holder and I am sure you would it love it 🙂

There is an immense satisfaction in creating something beautiful out of nothing. We have so many things lying around which are deemed as waste, but with a wee bit of imagination, can be changed into something useful.
In fact after the advent of Makers Movement there has been huge trend of making best from waste with household trivia. Art and Craft scene has never been as exciting as the possibilities are endless. There are some fancy names which have been coined by crafters, for more serious projects, some call them reimagined projects some upcycled.

I have become so lazy about crafting and blogging no doubt. To be quite frank I have no idea whats eating up all my time but, I have no time to blog 😛 Maybe its the office work that leaves my brain twisted and devoid of creativity when I reach back or its the messy home that need a little long term overhaul but either ways, I promise that I wont be totally hibernating! Today’s post is on how I made these simple DIY monogram wall art that I am planning to put up in my daughters nursery ( yeah I need to change the monogram from M to G!). I love all the pretty nursery decor ideas ruling pinterest but to be frank, I don’t know where to get all the supplies in India. I know how unpleasant it is when you have all the energy and creativity to make something but you have absolutely no clue as to where from to source the supplies! I have multiple sources and mostly online but I guess I buy things just because I like them and I happen to use them long long later! Okay no blaberrings – straight to the tutorial.
